“ My favorite Malaysian restaurant in Queens! Everything is super flavorful and fresh. Super affordable, my favorite dish it their laksa! It is so rich in flavor and so delicious! The staff is super attentive and helpful, they even recommend you dishes if it is your first time there. My go to spot when I'm craving Malaysian! ”
“ I found my favorite home style cooking Asian restaurant in New York! Can't recommend enough!! At first I was a bit concerned on the extensive menu but was surprised that each dish we got tasted so delicious and authentic. This place is also very vegetarian friendly as there are many vegetable/tofu options. The four of us shared: 1. Buddha yam seafood basket 2. Fantastic Four 3. Roti Canai 4. Fried egg tofu with minced shrimp 5. Fried fish cake - must get! 6. Sizzling Bean Curd 7. Singaporean Laksa 8. Lychee juice - came with 4 pieces of actual lychee fruit!? yum There wasn't a single dish that I didn't like. Needless to say, we came very hungry and left stuffed and satisfied. The food is so comforting. I actually wasn't a fan of laksa until I've tried the laksa here! I highly recommend all the dishes we got. If you like tofu this place is paradise. Generous portion sizes as well - I highly recommend coming in groups and eat family style to try different dishes. The staffs are friendly and attentive and the indoor seatings are spacious and clean. They can easily combine tables to accommodate larger groups. **This place is cash only** ”
“ Actually hits the spot! Great taste. Definitely one of the few places I will keep frequenting. Update: So good I went back the next day for that Beef Rendang dry noodles. Ask for the secret shrimp paste. That's fire ! ”
“ We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were seated quickly - it's small but efficient! The food is pretty good, the flavor of the sauces was a little weak compared to dishes in Malaysia but overall really delicious and definitely scratched the itch. Roti came out piping hot and the satay chicken was a highlight. It's small but cute and a great price point. And fyi, cash only! ”
“ This is your no frills, hole-in-the-wall spot, but it is, without a doubt, a beloved staple in Elmhurst -- for it remains here unchanged for as long as I could remember. Arrived here on Sunday around noon and was greeted with the hustle and bustle of servers and customers. Luckily we managed to get a seat and wasted no time ordering. Got a few things to enjoy family style and all of them hit the spot! SINGAPOREAN KARI LAKSA: This is what I came for and it was more than I could ever dream of. The laksa was umami and savory, but somehow still very light. It came with an assortment of protein (tofu, chicken, fish cake and egg) along with some slippery and thick rice noodles. I honestly could slurp down an entire bowl easily. If there's one thing I would absolutely try from here, it's this. WOK SAUTÉED SILVER THREAD NOODLES: The wok hei on this was fragrant and prevalent. That char really elevated the dish and gave it that oomph. The noodles were cooked well and had that nice bouncy, chewy texture that you can't really get from other noodles. There were generous pieces of cuttlefish, which I initially didn't expect so that was a pleasant surprise. This was also a fan favorite! ROTI CANAI: Always love a good roti canai at a Malaysian joint. This one was a little on the smaller side, but was very flaky with so many layers. Paired with the curry, it was *chefs kiss. HAINANESE CHICKEN (HALF): You can order a full or half, but half was more than enough for 3 people. The chicken was silky and velvety with a good ratio of tender meat to skin. Coming from the gym, this was a good protein dense option. Must order the chicken rice to go with this!!! Based on the demographic, the workers spoke Cantonese, Malay, Mandarin and English. They were very friendly and always encouraged the customers to simply enjoy their meals as clean up and service is the staff's job. CASH ONLY. ”
